What I'm Reading

6:00:00 PM

I have to admit, today's blog post title is a tad bit misleading. I definitely don't plan to read all of these books at once, especially since some haven't even come out yet. However, I've been asked a few times for book recommendations, so I thought I'd create a list of books you can read with me :)

1. Burned by Ellen Hopkins
I haven't picked up an Ellen Hopkins book since middle school, but I've got a new project that I'm working on. I've been inspired to try my hand at free verse poetry and I thought I'd go back in time to one of my favorite free verse poetry narratives!

2. June by Miranda Beverly-Whittemore
As I've mentioned before, I've gotten a couple of books in exchange for a written review from Blogging for Books and this one is no different. Since I haven't heard of many of the authors on this website, I have decided to use this opportunity to read books that I wouldn't normally read myself. This is what really got me, "June and Jack’s lives were forever altered by murder, blackmail, and betrayal."

3. These Are The Moments by Jenny Bravo
After connecting with Jenny on Twitter, I saw this tweet:

I hadn't heard of her book before, but I knew that I wanted to purchase a copy. I can't really help the flood victims too much physically or financially, but knowing that I could do this was amazing! Plus, I upgraded to the "These Are the Moments + MLT bundle" and now I'm getting two signed paperback copies & her free ebook! I honestly can't wait until they get here!

4. Shaken by Tim Tebow
I'm so excited to announce that I was recently accepted to be a part of Tim Tebow's book launch team! As a follower of Christ, I am always a fan of celebrities that actively show their faith, in the right way, of course. So when I was contacted to apply for this opportunity, I couldn't fill out the application fast enough! Shaken is all about "discovering your true identity in the midst of life's storms" and I'm so excited to get my copy!

5. Gray's Dilemma by Cassandra Larsen
As you guys know, I recently participated in Camp NaNoWriMo and I had the pleasure of meeting Cassandra! She is a total sweetheart and sent me a copy of Silent Circle and Deceitful Circle, the first two books in her Witches Circle series. I've read both and loved them! I can't wait for her to release Shattered Circle, but in the mean time I've decided to read her novella Gray's Dilemma. It will definitely be interesting reading from his perspective, but if you haven't already read her first two books, then I highly suggest reading those first!

6. The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon
The Song Rising has been long awaited! I've been secretly stalking Samantha's website for any and all updates on her book! I've read the first two books in The Bones Season series and I've been needing more, especially after the way that The Mime Order ended. I can honestly say that this is my favorite series at the moment, and it's held that title for the last three years! I was a little hesitant to pre-order it though when I found out that Bloomsbury is changing up the covers. However, Samantha reassured us all when she announced that there will be a signed collectors edition that will match the previous covers! So I immediately snatched it up!

7. The Pale Dreamer by Samantha Shannon
While I'm waiting for The Song Rising to be released, I think I'm gonna pick up Samantha's prequel for The Bones Season series. Now, I have never read a prequel before but since my all-time favorite author has written one, I think I have to check it out! Especially since it has been such a secret project! I honestly had no idea that this was the project Samantha had been working on. I knew that she was writing another book, but I was completely surprised to find out that she was really working on The Song Rising, The Priory of the Orange Tree, and The Pale Dreamer! Needless to say, I will be fully engrossed in the life of Paige Mahoney on December 6th!

I don't think you guys can possibly understand how excited I am for each of these books! Waiting for them to arrive is going to be the hardest part, but I can't wait to read each and every one of them!

Just in case you wanted to check out my reviews on some of the books mention, I've included the links below:
