My Favorite Spoonie Resources

5:00:00 PM

It's Spoonie Saturday! If you don't know why, it's because I have officially dedicated my Saturday posts to anything under the category spoonie!

Some of my past spoonie posts include: What is a Spoonie?, 25 Things Not to Say to a Spoonie, and 25 Helpful Things to say to a Spoonie. If you haven't read them, feel free to check them out!

I have only been a spoonie for a few years, and some of my diagnoses are only a few months old, but I have stumbled upon some awesome spoonie resources. I have found each of the one's below helpful in one way or another. I'm sure there are some great ones that I may have missed, but these are my favorite!

Blogs
Chronically Courtney - Courtney is a beautiful soul that I met on Instagram. I relate to her posts so much that it's as if she's in my head!

The Chronic Illness Diary Of A Young Adult - I only recently stumbled upon Nancy's blog, but it is a great resource for remembering to stay positive while living with a chronic illness. She also has a chronic illness forum on her blog where you can talk to her and other readers. She's even got a page where you can share your own story!

Chronic Illness Support - This one is a tumblr blog dedicated to chronic illnesses. You can find funny and relatable posts, boredom busters, as well as suggested blogs, groups, and other links.

Websites
But You Don't Look Sick - This is the site where my spoonie journey began! You can find everything from Christine Miserandino's spoon theory, to tips, recipes, and more.

Living the Diagnosis - I found Vicky in a Chronic Illness Blogger group and we immediately connected! You can find a ton of information about various illnesses on her blog and you can even share your own story with her and her readers! My guest post will be up later this month!

Twitter
Pills and Pebbles - I connect so well with Sam's tweets, that it's ridiculous! She probably thinks I'm twitter stalking her because I like (and connect with) almost every tweet she writes! She's also got a blog as well, if you don't have a twitter!

Chronic Pain Tales - I'm a new follower, but I am in love with this twitter account! It's linked up to a tumblr blog that posts some of the most real and accurate spoonie confessions!

Instagram
Spoonie Support - This account is a great way to find spoonies in your area! They have posts for different countries, different parts of canada, and all 50 U.S. states!

Spoonie Support - This account is a great way to connect with spoonies that share your specific illness.

Facebook
National Invisible Chronic Illness - I only recently heard of this group, so I'm still waiting to be accepted. It is a closed group of almost 3,000 members!

Invisible Illnesses Fibro, Chronic Pain, MS, Lupus, etc - I only recently heard of this group, so I'm still waiting to be accepted. It is a closed group of almost 400 members!

Fibromyalgia and Other Invisible Illness Support - I only recently heard of this group, so I'm still waiting to be accepted. It is a closed group of almost 200 members! This one is perfect if you're looking for a smaller, more tight knit group.

Depression and Invisible Illness Support - I only recently heard of this group, so I'm still waiting to be accepted. It is a closed group of almost 200 members! This one is perfect if you're looking for a smaller, more tight knit group.

Videos
The Spoon Theory - This is the video I first watched; it's what helped me understand that I am a spoonie.
