PAB Feature: Isaly Holland

6:00:00 PM

Isaly Holland is a perfectly ambitious woman currently residing in Dallas, Texas. However, she is originally from Chicago. After moving, she spent a year in NYC and is now celebrating her sixth month of living in Dallas!

She is the owner and operator of a blog titled Memories By Isaly. Isaly blogs about various topics including: inspiration, health, beauty, DIY tutorials, and blogger interviews. In addition to those, she also reviews both products and books/comics on her blog as well!

When choosing her niche, Isaly based her decision off of her passion for helping people. More specifically, she enjoys helping people by helping them love themselves.

She does this through mind, body, and soul -- which is why she writes about something that stimulates each aspect of a person from mind (book reviews), health, beauty, soul (inspiration) and so much more!

In addition to helping people through her blog, Isaly is also an independent contractor. She helps companies with audits and merchandising. And when she's not working, she can be found watching a movie, reading a book, hanging out with her fiancé, or listening to music. She is an introvert, so it doesn’t take much to make her happy!

Q & A with Isaly
Q: Do you think it is good or bad to have dreams you may never accomplish? And why?
A: I think it is good to have dreams that you may never accomplish because dreams keep you going and keep you working towards something. Dreams are a way of realizing your purpose and making a difference. Dreams bring you happiness, so if they do not workout in the end, at least you had something to motivate you and bring you joy. You shouldn't let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the field.

Q: Have you ever been told you were too ambitious?
A: I have been told I am really ambitious because I always do more than needed. I have many goals, and definitely plan on obtaining them.

Q: How do you define perfectly ambitious?
A: I define perfectly ambitious to be a balance with ambition; having ambition but it not being so overly ambitious that it drains you.

Q: What makes you perfectly ambitious?
A: What makes me perfectly ambitious is that I know when to keep going and have tunnel vision for my goals -- on the other hand, I know when to take a break and let my ambitious goals be taken in strides.

Q: What inspires you?
A: Life in general inspires me. This life is something that I feel no one should take for granted and live every moment like it is literally your last.

Q: What other perfectly ambitious women do you admire?
A: One perfectly ambitious woman I admire would have to be Oprah. I love that she made herself into a brand, helped millions, continues to value herself and others.

Q: What is your favorite blogging tip or resource?
A: One of my favorite blogging resources is Facebook groups. I get to meet so many bloggers and get my blog site out there to the public.

Q: What advice would you like to share with others?
A: I would say for bloggers to always believe in yourself because your own opinion is what matters the most.

Q: What music do you like to have playing while you're writing?
A: It’s quite funny that you asked that before I started doing this questionnaire I turned on music. Literally, as I am typing I am listening to sounds of the ocean. I sometimes listen to cafe music. But its always non-lyrical music.

Q: What does your blogging process look like?
A: I usually spend a day writing out my five blog posts for the week. I save them in drafts after looking over them then release them on certain days to the public. I release all of them to my site on Sunday but do not tell people about the post until the day that I want it to be known. I know that sounded confusing but it helps to release on Sunday that way I do have to keep releasing every single day but wait to tell people for the schedule of my blog and purpose of marketing.

Q: What is your favorite part of blogging?
A: My favorite part of blogging is gathering information and seeing how people are surprised by the information that I find out. I love helping people :)

Q: What are your future goals?
A: My future goals are to make a difference in many people's lives with my blog, start a business, have a family of my own and be happy. My future business goals are to start my own online business and invest into other people's businesses as well to help their dreams come true.

Q: What do you want to accomplish?
A: I want to accomplish being happy in this life and achieving my future goals. Life is too short and I will make a difference in this world.

Fun Facts about Isaly
  • Her favorite quote is "with every hardship comes ease."
  • Her favorite book is Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.
  • Her favorite movie is Pretty in Pink and a close second is The Mummy
  • She wants to learn how to become a better person everyday and find new ways to help people with their lives. She thinks she is horrible at taking a break and going to sleep at night. She always says, “Isaly, ten more minutes then go to sleep.” But sleep doesn't end up happening until 2am.
  • Her biggest accomplishment is taking control of her life and moving to NYC after graduating college. Then moving again a year later because I wanted to change locations again haha!
  • It's kind of a funny story: Isaly went to a school in a small town outside of Chicago, IL. She ended up becoming bestfriends with a guy and they ended up dating for a couple of years. Now they are engaged. They basically were that ‘college love story.’ It turns out that he grew up two blocks over from her home, and his grandma lived five blocks over from their childhood houses. They were around each other their entire lives and didn’t even realize it. Literally they are the epitome of "You could walk pass your soulmate and not even know it."
