Product Review: Bloom Voxbox*

A few months ago, I connected with Nikki from Nikkipedia. We talked about all things blogging including product reviews and how to monetize our blogs. She brought up the company Influenster and asked if I had any experience with them. Honestly, being a new blogger, I hadn't even heard of the company before.

A week or two went by and I was still following my same old blogging routine: writing a post, promoting on social media, contacting a few brands here and there. My plan worked, but it could obviously be improved. I remembered Nikki had mentioned this company, but I couldn't remember what it was called. After scrolling through our previous conversations, I finally found the name and immediately went to their website.

Signing up for Influenster was pretty easy and I'm sure I'll write a post about that sometime soon! For a while, I hadn't really heard anything from them. I'd occasionally get an email with a survey to fill out to see if I qualified for a certain product or Voxbox. Eventually, I was approved for the Bloom Voxbox and I couldn't wait to get it and review the products!

SinfulColors Nail Polish
I knew from the beginning that I probably wasn't going to like the nail polish, based on color alone. I'm just not really a pink person. I never paint my fingernails and I only ever do french pedicures. However, I wanted to try it and give an honest review anyways! It's important to keep in mind that each of our body chemistries are different. With that said, I needed quite a few coats of this nail polish. It honestly took between four and five coats to get an even solid color. Had it not been pink, I probably would have left this on until it chipped miserably and I finally took it off! However, I'll be sending this off to another military wife so she can enjoy it, rather than letting it sit in my bathroom drawer.

Cute Advanced Revival Nail Polish Remover Pads
I had high hopes for these when I was ready to review them. The box claims that one pad cleans all 10 nails, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. It could partially be due to the specific nail polish that I was wearing. Since I needed to use so many coats of the nail polish above, I think the pads may have had a harder time getting everything off. The first thing that I noticed was the pad was very small. I thought it would continue unfolding to provide more space for the nail polish. I was actually only able to get four and a half of my nails cleaned. I ended up using my own nail polish remover and a q-tip to remove the rest. The second thing that I noticed was acetone was an ingredient and the pad was soaked. Just using it for one of my hands led to a pretty bad headache. I normally try to purchase acetone free nail polish remover, so I don't think I'll be using this product again. Of course, this may not affect others the way that it affects me.

Nuxe Hulie Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil
I don't even know where to begin on this dry oil! I absolutely love it! Every time that I go get my hair cut, I always hear the same thing, "What hair products do you use? Your hair is really dry. You need some type of hydration." It was no different the last time I went either, but I actually learned something this time too! My stylist said that to help with the frizz and flyaways, I should use oil before blowdrying my hair. She then proceeded to show me how and it looked great. Of course, I had no idea what I was doing, so I never went and bought myself oil. Luckily, this gem was included in the Bloom Voxbox! I put a little bit in my hands and worked it through my hair after my shower, I then alternated between the warm and cool settings on my blowdryer, and it made a huge difference! I definitely recommend this product!

Not Your Mother's Plump For Joy
I've had a product like this before and I really enjoyed it. Of course, that was also during middle school when scrunching your hair was all the rage! Honestly, I had high hopes for this product. Unfortunately, it didn't work very well for me. I have very thick hair with zero volume. So, I was really hoping that it would help lift my hair and add some body. I used it on damp hair after my shower, but didn't notice any difference. I do have two theories as to why though: 1. The product I used in middle school worked best when my hair was longer because there was less of a natural curl, so this product may have worked better had I not cut my hair 2. The bottle says "for fine, thin hair" which I don't have. So this product may have not worked for me either way, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work at all.

Sunbelt Bakery Granola Bars: Chocolate Chip
I was pretty excited when I saw this granola bar in the box. I had just started a new diet and the fact that there weren't any preservatives made me happy. Unfortunately, there were way too many calories in it for me. However, I didn't let it go to waste. I gave it to my husband, but informed him that he will need to give a review. He ate it and said that he really liked it. Like most men, he eats almost everything, but he made some valid points. He liked that it was much larger than the usual Chewy bars that we eat. He also liked that although there were more calories, he felt like he got more out of it. It didn't taste as sweet as our usual granola bars, but he preferred the ingredients in the Sunbelt granola bar. He also said that it tasted a little bit more grainy, but it had more flavor. I'd also like to give props for their price point!

Secret Outlast Xtend Invisible Solid
I'm the kind of person that once I find I product I like, I stick with it for the next 5+ years. I used to use Secret deodorant for a really long time, but eventually it just seemed like it wasn't working as well as it used to. I tried switching between the different kinds that they offered, but in the end I made the switch to an entirely new deodorant company. However, the Bloom Voxbox has me second guessing my decision. I tested out this product just like I had done with the others, but I used this every day for a few days. I applied a generous amount and it was indeed invisible. I liked that there was no clumping and I didn't have any problems with deodorant lines on my clothes. It smelled great and it worked well throughout the day; I didn't even have to reapply. The only problem that I encountered was the deodorant falling out of the plastic container. Unfortunately, it happened on the third or fourth day and I had to throw away the sample. I definitely think I'll be buying the real thing the next time I go to the store!
