Product Review: Fay Farm Rejuvenation Lotion*

* I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers Network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company. *

When I first received the campaign invite for the Fay Farm rejuvenation lotion, I was a tad bit skeptical. My doctors and I have tried various medications that haven't been able to subdue the daily aches and pains that I endure. So I wasn't sure that a lotion could fix them either.

Not only was I concerned that it was just a topical ointment, but I was also worried about the fact that it contained CBD oil. I have never used any product that contained CBD oil before, so I wasn't sure how I would react to it.

Nonetheless, I decided to give it a try. I'm at the point in my chronic illness journey that I will try anything and everything to relieve myself of the pain that I'm in. So, if there's a chance that this lotion would work, I wanted to take it.

Fay Farm
Now, if you haven't heard of the Fay Farm brand before, they are known for their homemade organic body care products.

On their website, you can find a large variety of products ranging from hair and face products to body products. Some of which include: serums, lotions, soaps, and more!

According to their website, "The Fay Farm was started by Stacy Anderson & Michael Yocco, two driven individuals from the Bay Area who desired more from life than cubicles and never getting to see their seven daughters."

The Fay Farm is located on Whidbey Island near Seattle, Washington. This is where they produce several of the high quality ingredients found in their products.

If you happen to live in the area, you can actually check out their products in more than 10 different Fay Farm retail partner locations.

As I mentioned earlier, the product that I received to review was the Rejuvenation CBD Lotion (200mg Cannabidiol) which can be found on the Fay Farm CBD page

The description that I received is this:
"Our Rejuvenation Lotion is a blend of herbs and essential oils designed to relieve joint and muscle pain. Use our Rejuvenation Lotion when applying to areas that need to be absorbed quickly, like hips, knees, shoulders, etc. Notes of vanilla from peru balsam essential oil complimented with a delicious top note of camphor makes for a mild, almost decadent aroma. Made with organic ingredients: Purified water, hemp oil, grape seed oil, apricot kernel oil, emulsifying wax, stearic acid, argan oil, magnesium, white sesame oil, jojoba oil, essential oils, 200 mg. CBD oil, fennel, licorice, turmeric, valerian, gluconolactone and sodium benzoate (certified organic preservative)."

Review
When the package first arrived, I was both surprised and disappointed. The packaging itself, wasn't anything special. It was a basic poly mailer with a printed shipping label, which is fine. However, there wasn't anything on the inside. I didn't see a packing slip, a business card, tissue paper, or anything. I don't know if it's just my business background, but I find it very important to keep branding in a company's packaging too.

Even though I was a little disappointed in the packaging, Fay Farm definitely made up for it with their product! When I signed up for this campaign, I figured I was just going to receive a little plastic container with an ounce or two of lotion. Boy, was I wrong! I actually ended up receiving a full 8 ounce bottle with pump!

As far as customer service goes, I didn't actually have any experience working with the company. Everything was set up through Julie at the Chronic Illness Blogger network, so I don't have much to review on this subject. However, Julie was a pleasure to work with!

Now, for the actual product. As I mentioned earlier, I was a bit skeptical to try it. I had just been prescribed four new medications and I was trying to adjust to beginning each one of them. I didn't want to confuse any new symptoms as a reaction to the medications or the lotion. So, I slowly tapered myself off the old medications and allowed myself time to adjust to each new medication. Once that was done, I finally began using the rejuvenation lotion.

At first, I wasn't really sure how much to use. I didn't see any instructions on the bottle so I just used a little bit to be safe. I had my husband rub it onto my shoulder the first time, since that's what was bothering me the most. I have to say, the scent took a little bit to get used to, but it wasn't bad. Since I struggle with migraines, I was afraid that it might bring one on, but it didn't.

I was pleased to feel the lotion on my skin. It went on smoothly and didn't feel heavy or burdensome. Plus, it didn't leave a greasy or sticky residue. Overall, I was very pleased with the lotion itself.

After a little while, I thought I could feel it working into my shoulder pain, but it still hurt. I didn't actually know how long it should take to kick in, so I decided I would try it again the next day.

The following day, I asked my husband to rub the lotion in the same spot. This time though, I requested that he use a bit more than before. After this use, I definitely noticed a difference and after a couple of days, the pain completely went a way.

In the end, I would definitely recommend this product. I can't say that it was the lotion alone that got rid of my pain, but I do think it was a combined effort. I will definitely be using this product in the future and I may just have to try their other products too!
